CVA as Subconsultant is provided one NICET III Senior Construction Inspector and three NICET II Construction Inspectors for this major project.
The Project involves approximately 5 miles of new alignment for existing Routes 17 and 81 for conversion to Interstate 86; and the construction of seven (7) new bridges. It included 270,000 CM of excavation, 174,000 CM of fill and 96,000 CM of soil, 25,000 CM of concrete for mainline pavement (not including the bridges); 10,300 MT of asphalt paving on side roads, noise walls and MSES walls, significant work zone traffic control and significant erosion and sediment control issues.
Construction Inspection work involves ensuring that the work of the Contractor conforms to the provisions of the contract documents. Services include detailed inspection, on-site field testing of materials and other construction activities as necessary, including field measurement and collection of data necessary to submit monthly and final estimates and progress reports, and preparation of record plans showing all changes from the contract plans. All records are kept in accordance with the Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK). In addition, the inspectors are proactive towards achieving timely construction completion and monitor contract progress by evaluating the adequacy of the Contractor’s personnel and equipment including the availability of necessary materials and supplies. The project involves extensive night and weekend work.
