CVA as Subconsultant has provided the Office Engineer, NIII and one Construction Inspector NIII for this contract.
The project under the construction contract (D262100, PIN 8062.10), included bridge demolition and construction, drainage, guiderail, and construction of a stormwater management facility. Roadway improvements included increasing the vertical alignment of I-84 by 2 feet to meet the new bridges over Dingle Ridge Road, overlay of I-84 within the project limits, and milling & overlay of Dingle Ridge Road. Structure improvements included the replacement of BINs 1032621 and 1032622 with 80 ft precast concrete beams and deck (Next Beam). The new bridges were prefabricated immediately adjacent to the existing bridges using precast concrete beams. Once the new bridges were assembled, the existing bridges were demolished and the new bridges slid into the original footprint of the original bridge. The demolition and sliding process occurred during a weekend operation, with only one bridge done per weekend.
Our Office Engineer was responsible for: -Coordination between NYSTA, Contractor, Consultants and Utility Services;     Processed and reviewed progress payments to     the Contractor; Administered Contractor’s work and ensured compliance with contract documents;     monitored project budget and schedule; Made limited field inspections; Prepared project related correspondence; Was responsible for internal scanning and archiving; Prepared monthly progress reports; and assisted the Project Manager in all administrative tasks.
